Where is that Wicks guy, anyway?

I'm here. I'm alive. And I am still writing.

I hope your summer was a good one. Mine had its ups and downs. The lose of a hard drive with LOADS of data was probably the low point. But with bits of hardcopy scattered all over the place, along with some ancient backups from the last five years, I've been slowly coming back from the brink.

An aside: an external 100-plus GB USB hard drive is a good thing to have. Really.

Okay, so now I am approaching November and the annual type-fest known as NaNoWriMo. Of course I am taking part in it. 50,000 words in 30 days is definitely do-able. My right hand is showing the early stages of carpal tunnel syndrome, but I am not going to be deterred. Get the wrist brace, avoid needless keyboard action (um, right!), and remain focused on the-

Ooooh, shiny!

Sorry.

Anyway, I'll make an attempt to maintain short bursts of progress reports through out the month, and get this series finished and in print. Trust me, it will be well worth the wait.

An Update, Woo Hoo!

I've registered the domain http://www.beyondelsewhere.com last month, thus securing a place on the 'Net to host this blog, and promote the novel series. Very satisfying. :)

I'm currently working on the Writer's Bible, as well as more text for books 1-3. The tentative titles are as follows:

Book #1 - A Crescendo of Color
Book #2 - The Sign of Fire
Book # 3 - Hill Where The Lord Hides

The writing goes slow as I am refining plot points, characters, and settings. The hardest part is trying NOT to be like the other space opera series already out in the domain. It is a challenge, to be sure. People will tell me when I've screwed up.. ::smirk::

Well, time to get back to work...

Starting Point..

Lotovans. Ducharans. Kohavi. Phalphins. Kelsaxons. And a race called humanity.

All share a universe full of wonder and mystery. Shortcuts in space allows for the expansion of colonies from all races. But a recently concluded 600 year long war has revealed vulnerabilities in both the passage ways throughout populated regions of space, as well as the fragile alliance formed by the "victors" of the war.

A new space race has begun. Will humanity master the technology and lead the races to a new era of cooperation and peace, or will it lose and face obscurity, or worse, extinction?

Welcome to the new science fiction series known as beyond Elsewhere, created by me. The first novel, A Crescendo of Color, will be completed sometime this calendar year. Follow this blog for updates and track the insights behind the creation of this lifelong literary project of mine. Expect sneak peeks, illuminations of various backgrounds, and the occasional surprise.

It should be fun. ::wink::

Cheers,
